The Speaker of the House, Femi Gbajabiamila disclosed at the plenary on Wednesday stated that the need to curb the unlawful actions of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Police, violative of the citizens rights is imperative and of immense importance. He further said that it is high time a Law is enacted that will prevent interference in the affairs of the police and check the excesses of its personnel. The Majority Leader of the House, Alhassan Ado-Doguwa, later moved a motion of urgent national importance, on the human rights abuses by SARS operatives.
